Five Reasons to take DHA Supplements

DHA supplements are undoubtedly something you've been aware of. In case you don't know, DHA is one of the crucial omega-3 essential fatty acids. DHA means docosahexaenoic acid. It's the most prevalent essential fatty acid in the brain. You can't get any of the omega-3's except through your diet. Your entire body doesn't manufacture them from other things. And, DHA especially has been linked to better heart, brain, and general, overall body health. You might have heard of all of this, particularly if you're interested in your health. But you probably haven't heard that DHA affects other aspects of your whole body and can assist in preventing numerous diseases. All of this is the reason you want to consider DHA supplements on a regular basis.

Diabetes

DHA
might possibly help folks with diabetes. Diabetics have traditionally had difficulty with high triglyceride levels and in addition with low HDL levels. HDL is the good cholesterol. Omega-3 fatty acids help raise HDL's and lower triglycerides. Turns out the best form of getting DHA supplements and other efas is through fish-oil tablets. Although you do find omega-3 fatty acids in flax seed, scientists think you might not get the same benefit from flax seed as from fish-oil.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease,
which could cause inflammation in the joints. We have seen some studies done lately, which indicate omega-3 essential fatty acids can help with this type of disease. That makes sense, because omega-3 essential fatty acids tend to reduce inflammation in the body, and rheumatoid arthritis is viewed to be an ailment of inflammation.

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)

SLE
is another autoimmune disorder. Apparently the EPA in fish oil may lessen the signs and symptoms of lupus. Lupus is characterized by joint painas well as by fatigue. There is, however, a type of lupus, lupus nephritis, on which omega3 and omega-3 efas don't seem to help.

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is mainly
an illness that affects women. Although, it can affect men. omega-3 efas, along with DHA seem to increase the amount of calcium in your body. Osteoporosis is caused by insufficient sufficient calcium.

Depression

The jury is out, here. Some
studies have found that taking omega-3 efas while taking prescription antidepressants actually helps. Others have not shown this link. The fact that DHA is the omega-3 fatty acid that's most prevalent in the brain might lead you to believe that something DHA supplements would help.
